A bit about me...
Nice to meet you, I'm Charlie!
A Lifetime of Creativity and Nature
Growing up in the Norfolk countryside, I was a total nature kid. I'd spend hours outside, exploring the woods, chasing butterflies, and trying to identify every bird I saw. It was a magical time, learning the names and beautiful calls of the songbirds, the swooping, night-time routine of the bats, and the funny Latin names for those tiny, pretty flowers. Bird guides, wildlife guides, and plenty of hands-on exploring gave me an irreplaceable love for Nature, our Planet, and the Universe that holds us.
At Age 11...
When I started taking photos at this age, I saw it as a way to share my love and perspective of nature with others. I'd take pictures of everything I found interesting—from vibrant flowers (like this Purple Poppy) to the stunning seascapes. Even then, I wanted to capture the essence of nature and inspire others to appreciate its beauty.
Graduating from disposable cameras in the 90s, to the exciting 'digital camera' age, where I really caught the bug. From then on I always owned and experimented with my camera, loved my 5 years of Media Studies - teaching me vital editing and photography skills. This is where I learned Photoshop...and I was obsessed with this whole process.
A "pivot"!
As a teenager, diverting this nature-focussed passion into assisting baby & wedding photography was a really exciting avenue and an honour to take part in these important moments of peoples' lives; even more so when I created my own wedding photography business. Several years of beautiful weddings, exciting commercial work and dramatic theatre promotion...the Pandemic struck and shook everything up!
After years of unconsciously growing a thousands-strong nature archive on evenings and weekends, perfecting my skills, a pandemic and a sudden disability, I decided to start Prints of Nature. My desire is to bring the beauty of the natural world into your home and help you connect with it in a deeper way, even if you can't get out. With a lifetime of experience in nature and photography, I'm passionate about creating art that not only looks beautiful but also has a positive impact on the world.
